Baseline Testing Criteria for Windows Applications

Released November 2015

The AQuA Testing Criteria can be used informally at any stage of the development process, but it is expected they will be of greatest use as a check immediately before beginning the submission processes for the Windows Store.

When using this set of AQuA Testing Criteria, please bear in mind that they are not designed purely as prescriptive step-by-step tests. Rather, it is a guide to questioning assumptions that may be made in the design and development stages, and of finding ways to check that those assumptions do not reduce usability.

AQuA Testing Criteria are intended to add to the comprehensive guidance and testing resources already provided by Microsoft on MSDN and other sites, some of which are referenced in the document. Several test cases have been originated directly from Microsoft content, and any Microsoft content is included by their kind permission.
