Insurance app wins AQuA Quality App Badge & Test House Verified status

Based in China, AQuA Endorsed Member CTTL SmarterApps is a specialist in app testing and smart device testing, belonging to China Academy of Telecommunication Research (CATR).

And as a Quality App Directory-approved Test House, CTTL SmarterApps is one of the test houses approved by AQuA to test apps against the Testing Criteria for inclusion within the Quality App Directory.

CTTL SmarterApps were recently approached to test a Chinese Insurance app from baoba360.com.

The app passed the AQuA Testing Criteria, verified by CATR, giving the app the AQuA App Quality Badge. The badge is is a mark of quality available for apps that have met the quality level of 'Test House-Verified' within the Quality App Directory.

Here, CTTL SmarterApps talk to AQuA about this process, why they feel quality is important, and how they think being an Endorsed Member and Approved Test House of AQuA is beneficial to them. 

Tell us a bit more about the insurance app from baoba360.com?

Baoba360 is an insurance app that provides protection in everyday life. Claims can be made for scenarios at work, at home and when on the move.

Tell us about the process you went through to ensure that the app passed the level of quality to gain its status as Test House Verified?

This is the first time we have been approached by a client for their app to be “Test House Verified”, so to be sure that the app reached the required level of quality, we chose our experienced test engineers to take the app through the AQuA Online Testing Criteria Tool. We analysed the results of the tests and based on these results, we gave advice and feedback to the developer, providing them with a SmarterApps test report.

Generally, why is quality important to you?

Because the key to enhancing user-experience is improve the quality of apps.

Could you describe a typical project that you might carry out?

The Smarterapps team covers every stage of the SDLC lifecycle (Software Development Life cycle). Building on the principles of continuous integrity, we satisfy the continuous need of product integrity for our clients. We help them realize agile development, fast iteration and continuous integrity of software products.

We get first look and the ability to input into new AQuA Testing Criteria and resources, which are standard and scientific. In addition, AQuA is impressive around the world and we can work closely with AQuA to improve quality initiative within the mobile industry.

What would you tell other developers about AQuA membership and the Quality App Directory?

We publicize AQuA at events and tell users about the significance of app quality. In addition, we introduce the well established AQuA Testing Criteria to developers, encouraging them to execute the relevant tests to improve the quality of their apps.
